Every house carries a story that starts with a tree. A tree that grows in the forests of Småland for many years until it is being folded and marked before preparation. Making the trees into planks, and later on into a house is a craft and an art form that should be honored, which were our approach when creating the identity for Husriket Småland.

Creating the identity for Husriket Småland was a collaboration project between them and Linneaus University. The thought behind Husriket was to connect several house producers in a network to highlight the high quality houses that are being produced, and at the same time make it easier for house buyers, and prospectors, to get an insight into the range of house types that are produced.

The heritage and tradition of craftsmanship were something we thought was important. Our inspiration comes therefore from the stamps that are being used when marking the trees, the early logos used by companies in Sävsjö (where the network will be placed) and the orange colour that lumberjacks use. To bring an extra touch of history the decision was made to use black and white photography of forest and close-up pictures of trees and their details, adding a rustic and raw feel to the company.

Husriket Småland chose this identity to be the final over two other options. Made in collaboration with Atchara Fajersson and Alexander Strand.
